CASA de OPORTUNIDAD
Open the doors to the long awaited and MUCH NEEDED After School Day Home Project - Casa de Oportunidad!
The "Centre" is a place to provide a safe, fun, loving environment for the kids to come after school to practice their English homework, play new games learning numbers & colors and crafts.
Staffed with volunteers, school will be operational 3-5 days a week, 2 hours a day. To begin, we will work with 6-8 students roating every 4 weeks. Need is much greater - based on funding, we would increase class size to 10 - 12 students with 4 hours a day availability.
We have grown!
Until now, we have literally worked out of the back of our vehicle. Laying down the back hatch and handing out items; school supplies, clothes and food.
Multi-Purpose Centre
Not only will Casa de Oportunidad provide a location for the school, it will also be a Donations Drop Off Centre and retail location to hold a Bazar monthly to raise funds for the families!
Local Volunteers
There will be a unique opportunity for some of the students' family members to participate directly. They can volunteer during the classroom time or assist in the monthly Bazar (learning valuable employement skills). To thank them, we will donate additional food items to their families.
